HAND STAMPED JEWELLERY - DESIGN PROCESS

This month we wanted to share with you a behind the scenes look at the design process for the botanical jewellery range.

The process usually begins by researching vintage botanical illustrations & doing some rough sketches of ideas. Vintage illustrations contain the kind of detail we hope to be able to capture in the final design.

The ideas are then worked on by an illustrator & turned into a design that will work as a tiny stamp - no easy feat!

Once the design is finalised, it's then handed over to our stamp maker, who turns it into a metal stamp.

The stamp is then ready for jewellery making. Discs are stamped by hand with the metal stamp blocks, to emboss them with the design.
