Jewellery Care

Jewellery Care Tips

MATERIALS WE USE AND HOW TO CARE FOR THEM

GOLD FILLED: What is gold fill? Also known as rolled gold, it is real gold bonded with a base metal (such as brass). It contains 100 times more gold than gold plated components and is very durable and tarnish resistant.

STERLING SILVER: We use 92.5% sterling silver. Sterling silver can tarnish when not worn, but this tarnish is removable with a polishing cloth or cleaning solution and with care your sterling silver piece can last forever.

GEMSTONES: We use semi-precious gemstones and freshwater pearls. Gemstones can fade or become discoloured when exposed to heat or direct sunlight, chemicals and water, so it is best to store them out of direct light. Perfumes and creams are best not applied directly where pearls will be worn, as this can cause discolouration.

VERMEIL GOLD: Vermeil gold is a plating of gold over sterling silver.

Some care tips to keep your A Box For My Treasure jewellery looking its best:

> It is advisable to apply beauty products before you put jewellery on, to prevent tarnish and erosion from the products

> Remove jewellery before showering, or swimming in the sea or a pool

> Store jewellery away from heat and direct sunlight (e.g.: radiators and windowsills)

> Store individual pieces separately, to avoid tangling and away from air:

- in a clear ziplock bag /

- in acid free tissue paper

- polish with a soft cloth
